Top Tips from a Lake District Wedding Photographer
I’ve been meeting and photographing lovely couples all over the world for 10 years, so I’ve caught on to a few tips that might help you out!
Let me take this chance to say if you’ve ever considered a wedding abroad – it’s well worth looking into my Mallorca Wedding Photography
1) Hire reputable and experienced vendors that match your vision and budget.
To find the best vendors for your wedding, you can start by asking for recommendations from your friends, family, or other couples who have recently got married. You can also browse online reviews, portfolios, and websites of different vendors to see their style, quality, and prices. Once you have a shortlist of potential vendors, you should contact them to check their availability, rates, and packages. You should also meet them in person or via video call to discuss your expectations, preferences, and contract details. Make sure you choose vendors who are professional, reliable, and compatible with your vision and budget.
2) Choose a venue that suits your style.
The venue is one of the most important aspects of your wedding, as it sets the tone and atmosphere for your big day. You should choose a venue that reflects your personality, theme, and style. For example, if you want a rustic and romantic wedding, you might opt for a barn or a farm. If you want a modern and elegant wedding, you might prefer a hotel or a museum. You should also consider the size of your guest list and the budget you have allocated for the venue…
…You don’t want to book a venue that is too small or too expensive for your needs. Additionally, you should think about the location of the venue and how convenient it is for you and your guests to travel to.
3) Hire a professional wedding planner.
Planning a wedding can be stressful and overwhelming, especially if you have a busy schedule or a limited budget. Hiring a professional wedding planner or coordinator can save you time, money, and hassle. A wedding planner or coordinator can help you with various aspects of your wedding planning process. For example, they can assist you with finding and booking the best vendors for your wedding. Moreover, they can handle the logistics and coordination of your wedding day. They can ensure that everything runs smoothly and according to your plan. They can also deal with any unexpected issues or emergencies that may occur during your wedding.
Why Book SJ as Your Lake District Wedding Photographer?
Once you start looking, you quickly realise just how much choice there is!
So many different styles, so many different ways of working.
I want to make sure that if you are considering whether to hire me to be your wedding photographer, that I am the absolute perfect choice for you.
Let me run through some of the key features of how I work, and what to expect from your wedding pictures, so you can feel 100% confident as to whether I am the right photographer for you.
1) Relaxed and Candid Pictures
One of my greatest joys, and biggest focus’ on a wedding day, is capturing totally natural pictures which capture all the fun and laughter of a wedding day.
A picture without laughter just feels empty to me! I love to walk around at a wedding, getting involved, laughing with guests myself and thus allowing me to capture great natural moment which speak of the atmosphere of the day.
Even when it comes to the portraits, I want you to be completely relaxed and able to laugh and have fun in front of me and my camera.
2) An Experienced Wedding Photographer
With almost 10 years experience, I have become very good at adapting and predicting activities and interactions on a wedding day.
This allows me to stay out of sight, but always in the right place at the right time. I am constantly scanning and watching so I can predict what is about to happen and how to capture it in the most beautiful way.
You can also be fully reassured that I have full insurances and have back-ups for my back-ups. I take no chances with such a special day, so you are free to enjoy your wedding day without even needing to think about your wedding pictures.
3) Super Fast and Reliable Service
One of the things I prioritise most is delivering wedding pictures in lightening speed. Within the wedding industry, standard delivery time is 3-6 months, but I will deliver your photographs in just 4 weeks!
Yes, even in peak wedding season, you will still receive this super-speedy service.
For this reason I keep my diary sparse and well spaced out so I can give your wedding day my focused attention and run no risks of developing a back-log of images (which carries other risks, like lost pictures etc) I take no such risks with your wedding day!
I prefer to make sure that your wedding pictures are safely stored, processed and delivered before moving on. I will also likely be beside myself with excitement to show you (and I know you will be dying to see them too!)
Frequently Asked Questions
What if it rains on my Wedding Day!
Sure, a little rain never hurt anyone, but I am up for being as adventurous as you are.
If you aren’t afraid to get outside with an umbrella then I’m certainly not either!
The weather is the only thing you can’t control when planning a wedding, especially in the Lakes. But if you are prepared to embrace the weather and make the most of it, then I will be right there with you! Let’s go and make your wedding photos something to talk about!
I have navigated all the perils and challenges of rain on a wedding day (it kind of comes with the job!)…
Not only am I hyper-vigilant about the weather and able to spot potential breaks which we can utilise to create some stunning wedding photos, but I am also flexible and willing to embrace the rain and create some cute umbrella/wellie pictures too!
Testimonies
With almost 10 year experience, I have had the honour of photographing the most incredible weddings and meeting the most amazing brides and grooms.
Although I adore the buzz and beauty of the wedding day itself, and get absorbed in the creative wedding photography process of making the wedding pictures look so dreamy and film-like, the absolute best part of my job is receiving the most incredible feedback from my amazing clients. Feedback like:
“SJ was our photographer for our wedding and we could not have picked a better woman for the job. The confidence she gave to me as a slightly nervous bride was unbelievable!
The photos she captured felt so natural and we had a really enjoyable few hours taking photos with her. We played some fun games to help us relax, it was perfect! SJ just fits into the theme of your day and is really flexible!
She knows exactly what shes doing so you don’t need to stress about whether you’ll have all the photos you want, she knows exactly who to capture and when and reads the room perfectly.
Couldn’t recommend her highly enough! Almost gutted I only plan on having one set of wedding photos!”
“One of the most important investments for your wedding is to choose the photographer as once your big day is over, you will be looking at the photos and reliving the memories.
I am so blessed to have had SJ as our wedding photographer, her work is astounding and I love all of the pictures! Every single one.
SJ was so much fun and captured such beautiful memories for us, she is a delightful, lovely person and just blended in to our day effortlessly.
I cannot recommend her enough, the quality of her work, the fun and laughs we had and she knew exactly how to put us both at ease, she’s just the best!“
Wow, feedback like this blows me away!
I am so aware that this the most important day of a bride and groom’s life so far, and as their wedding photographer, my presence and conduct on the day can make or break the wedding day experience and the memories afterwards.
I am committed to making sure my brides and grooms have the most relaxed, hassle-free, personalised and non-pressured day possible, so they are fully free to engage with their guests, and each other and have the best day of their lives.
And of course, provide them with their dream wedding photographs afterwards so they can keep enjoying the memories for many, many years to come!
